Dippin' Dots has been in business for over 25 years. This franchised ice cream brand sells beaded ice cream and ices in various flavors, as well as frozen yogurt, shakes and other related products. Franchisees operate stores or kiosks selling the ice cream. This is a brand popular with children and young adults. The beaded presentation preserves flavor and makes the ice cream a fun product to sell at fairs, parties and other events. Franchisees may also install and operate Dippin' Dots vending machines.

Why Choose Us?

Dippin' Dots is a solid brand with a longstanding history behind it. Over the past 25 years, the brand has enjoyed steady success. The product was featured on Oprah; additional recognition includes the 2005 International Dairy Foods Association nomination of its Dot Delicacies line for Best In Show, three consecutive Vendor of the Year awards from Six Flags, and even a 2014 Guinness World Records award for most ice cream cups prepared in three minutes.

Dippin' Dots is a popular product with children and young people. Many franchisees are able to sell at events. The company also encourages franchisees to participate in their communities by participating in fundraisers and activities while promoting the brand.

Ideal Candidate

The initial franchise fee is $15,000. Additional units are available for a franchise fee of $10,000. Current holders of a Doc Popcorn franchise receive a 50% discount on the initial franchise fee. Franchisees who open a Dippin' Dots and a Doc Popcorn at the same time can get a 25% discount on each franchise's fee. The investment range typically consists of a range of $112,204 - $366,950; kiosk operators will typically invest less than store owners. This brand will attract community-minded individuals who enjoy participating in events and promoting the brand. Prospective franchisees should also consider that this product's sales can fluctuate based on season, especially in locations where temperatures can vary greatly.

Dippin' Dots, originated in 1988, when microbiologist Curt Jones invented the concept, creating beaded ice cream using cryogenic technology. The resulting product was attractive for its fresh flavor and unique appearance. In 1989, Dippin' Dots began selling at amusement parks. Following that, in 1991, the company organized a dealer network to sell at events and stores.

In 1995, Dippin' Dots opened a new production plant in Kentucky. That year also marked its expansion into international market when it began selling product in Japan. Branded Dippin' Dot vending machines came on the market in 1998.

The company established its franchise in 2000. In 2003, it continued its expansion into the Asian market by licensing production in South Korea.

Scott Fischer became the company president in 2012. He introduced further innovations, including the sale of Dippin' Dots in convenience stores and pharmacies. In 2015, the company became affiliated with Doc Popcorn, opening several co-branded locations where customers could purchase both ice cream and popcorn.
