OC Coffee Rte: Product is Mailed, NO per/Contact, $22K net, 5 hr/wk
This is a straightforward coffee sales & delivery business with 10 locations (customers) and takes 5 hours per week to service. The product itself is comprised of exclusive coffee products and the customers are generally high-end businesses who want the best coffee for their customers and employees. The Route Owner’s job is to make sure the customer never runs out of coffee and all the other great products you’ve sold him, to apprise them of terrific new products that are available through you, and to maintain the multi-product Starbucks-style coffee machines that you provide. At first this will be done through personally calling upon the customer, but eventually orders will be placed over the telephone. However, routine coffee machine checkups will be made in person and gives an opportunity to maintain your friendly relations with your customer and to suggest new products. This Coffee Route Distributorship was purchased by the present Owner from a large regional coffee company (the ‘Mother Company’) in 2016. The Owner is an independent distributor for the Mother Company with full ownership of the accounts. Some of the customers lease their coffee machine from the Owner and some buy them from the Owner. The Owner calls on the customers in person at first and then, when a relationship has formed and things are stable, most people have transitioned to calling on their customers via telephone, with a few physical calls every few months to make sure that they are getting what they need, to apprise them of new products, and to keep up good will and friendly relations. Ordering product is easy: call up the Mother Company, place your order, they send it out to your customer, and the customer pays the shipping fees. The Owner is very pleased with how the Mother Company trained, supported, and helped her along and it is their policy to do the same for any new person selling their products. The Mother Company extensively coaches all the new distributors as they put effort into growing. If a distributor takes sufficient initiative to grow, the Mother Company has a policy of referring prospective customers to those distributors. Some of the more common locations for the coffee service offered by the Owner are: auto dealerships, high end hair salons, luxury apartments and hotels, law and other professional offices, and so on. At present this route has a total of 14 accounts (customers) with 9 coffee machines owned by the Owner and 5 coffee machines owned by the Customers. The Owner is fairly motivated to sell her coffee route and is offering a price that should sell fairly soon. The Broker for Silverbridge Inc., Jim Gallaher, states that he has sold 4 coffee routes from the Mother Company in Southern CA with no complaints from any of the Buyers.
